I wanted to place to document the construction of this fairly ambitious site - a categorization of amps pulled from eBay in real-time. Along the way, I wanted a place to chronical the history of amps that have crossed my path along the way.

The other experience I was trying to create was that of wondering around a music store and not knowing what you’re gonna find.  Since eBay is primarily search-driven, you generally have to know what your looking for - I wanted to create a site where you could just wonder around and see what’s out there - and there is a lot out there.  At any given time, there are over 6000 amps for sale - all shapes, sizes and ages.  I constantly find amps I haven’t seen in 20 years, in addition to a few I’ve never even heard of…I love it when that happens!
